Very lightweight E-glass fabric with an areal weight of 25 g/m² and a 127 cm working width for large-area, thin surface reinforcement and facing plies.
The greater fabric width is particularly advantageous for wide wings, wood and veneer surfaces and sandwich components. Larger areas can be covered with fewer joints and overlaps while keeping additional weight and laminate thickness to a minimum.
International Style 106 (formerly Interglas 02034) with FE 800 finish is a very fine E-glass fabric in plain weave. The 127 cm wide version is particularly suitable for larger surfaces where a lightweight glass-fibre ply should be applied as continuously as possible and with a minimum number of joints.

Benefits of the Fabric
With an areal weight of only 25 g/m², International Style 106 enables exceptionally lightweight and thin glass-fibre plies. The plain-weave construction using EC 5-5.5 yarn with 22 ends/cm in the warp direction and 22 picks/cm in the weft direction provides a uniform fabric structure and balanced fibre distribution in both principal directions.
The fabric is particularly suitable for applying a fine glass-fibre reinforcement to wood and veneer surfaces. On wings and other lightweight components, it allows a thin surface reinforcement to be produced without unnecessarily increasing laminate weight or thickness.
The high number of yarn interlacings in the plain weave provides good resistance to yarn displacement. This facilitates distortion-free cutting and positioning and is a practical advantage when working with such a fine and lightweight fabric.
Applications
The 25 g/m² fabric is intended for very thin surface reinforcement, covering and facing plies. It is particularly suitable for components where the additional areal weight and laminate thickness of the glass-fibre reinforcement need to be kept to a minimum.
Typical applications:
- Large-area reinforcement and covering of wood and veneer surfaces
- Wings and lightweight components in model aircraft construction
- Facing plies for honeycomb and sandwich structures

For honeycomb sandwich components, at least two fabric plies should be used due to the very low areal weight.
Suitable Resin Systems
The fabric can be processed with suitable epoxy, polyester and vinyl ester resin systems. Low-viscosity laminating resins are particularly suitable for achieving uniform wet-out of such a fine fabric.
Epoxy resin systems are commonly used for wood and veneer reinforcement as well as demanding lightweight composite structures, particularly where good adhesion to the substrate and high mechanical properties are required.

Benefits of the 127 cm Width
The 127 cm working width offers a practical advantage particularly for larger wings, sandwich panels and wide wood or veneer surfaces. Components within the available fabric width can be covered without an additional longitudinal joint.
Fewer joints and overlaps make it easier to achieve a uniform laminate build-up and avoid local material accumulation. With a fabric weighing only 25 g/m², this is particularly useful where a uniform, weight-efficient facing or surface ply is required.
For larger surfaces, the 127 cm version therefore provides efficient surface coverage. For narrower components, the 110 cm version may offer advantages in terms of handling and material utilisation.
Technical Notes
Handling the Lightweight Fabric
The dry fabric should be cut carefully and positioned without unnecessary displacement of the yarns. Despite the comparatively stable plain-weave construction, a fabric in this weight class requires careful handling.
Resin Application
Apply the resin sparingly and uniformly. Excess resin increases laminate weight and thickness without increasing the fibre content or the fibre-related reinforcing contribution.
Large-Area Surface Reinforcement
For suitably sized components, the 127 cm width allows continuous coverage without a longitudinal joint. This is particularly advantageous for larger wings, wood and veneer surfaces and thin sandwich facing plies.
Sandwich Structures
For honeycomb sandwich components, at least two fabric plies should be used. Any additional facing laminate requirements must be determined according to the core material, component geometry and mechanical loading.
Plain Weave
The high number of yarn interlacings gives the plain weave good resistance to yarn displacement and a stable fabric structure. For strongly three-dimensional component geometries, twill or satin weave fabrics generally provide better drapability.
