Carbon non-woven 20 g/m², width: 100 cm
USA: width 39.37", weight 0.6 oz/yd²
Suitable for epoxy, polyester and vinyl ester resins
High-tenacity carbon fibre
Technical data:
Width: 100 cm
Thickness (at 10 kPa/(1.45 lb/in²)): 0.24 mm
Fibre length: 6 mm (0,25") and 12 mm (0.5")
Fibre diameter: approx. 7 µm
Binder: PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol)
Tensile strength: N/15 mm: 36, lb/in: 14
Surface resistivity (Ω/square)*: 4
*Surface resistivity is measured using a Vermason 75 mm square contact block. The test sample size fits the contact block and a 1.0 kg deadweight is loaded centrally on top of the contact block assembly.
For use as a surface material in composite materials. The carbon non-woven is characterized by an excellent resin uptake and can be used in all composite manufacturing systems from RTM over prepreg to thermoforming.
The exceptionally good fibre distribution and the aesthetic appearance of the carbon non-woven achieve a very good surface quality. The non-woven is very light and saves costs, the resin consumption is reduced and the effort of grinding and polishing is low.
Preliminary tests are essential for determining the optimal degree of impregnation.
